Sans Period
SANS PERIOD
A typeface that hides period education in punctuation
Have you heard of the "Don't Say Period" bill? (Yes, that's real.) Florida passed HB1069 restricting classroom education on human sexuality and reproductive health for students below ninth grade. Which meant no conversations about menstruation. The irony? Almost all girls get it BEFORE high school.
We said "Absolutely not." Because banning menstrual health education for the exact kids who need it most isn't protection; it's just making sure they suffer in silence. So we created the typeface, Sans Period. Through innovative programming, the Sans Period typeface hides 36 unique menstruation facts in plain sight. They are hidden in the periods themselves and change automatically with every letter and period combination.

MEDIA
The media placement was as smart and sneaky as the typeface itself. In addition to social media efforts, we connected with students via billboards between 7am and 8am in the mornings when they were en route to school. We also partnered with youth chapters of PERIOD to spread the word on social and through strategically placed posters.
